Brighton

Brighton’s seaside location has been reeling in holidaymakers and celebrities for years. One of the south coast’s renowned resorts, Brighton offers a historic quarter with quaint shops, a booming nightlife and an extravagant Royal Pavilion that looks more like a Maharajah’s Palace.

Tour to Brighton to unfold a deckchair on Brighton’s pebble beach or take a bracing walk along the prom, or stroll out to sea on Brighton Pier, perfect for summer afternoons (or winter ones if you’re equipped with a few extra layers). Take the Volk’s Electric Railway – England’s oldest – along Madeira Drive to the Marina and admire the fine Regency terraces as you go. The Lanes is the historic quarter of Brighton, a maze of narrow alleyways lined with antique shops and boutiques, elegant arcades and 400-year-old former fisherman’s cottages shoulder-to-shoulder with quaint pubs, which make for an ideal location for an al fresco seafood lunch.

  • Since it’s deemed to be one of the most exotically beautiful buildings in the British Isles, it would be a shame to miss the Royal Pavilion, the magnificent former seaside residence of King George IV. Decorated in Chinese taste with a head-turning Indian exterior, this Regency Palace is simply breathtaking.
