The Beatles are what most people primarily associate with Liverpool, but this isn’t the end of Liverpool’s fine offerings. Having undergone considerable rejuvenation since its industrial revolution days, the city is in the running for European Capital of Culture 2008 and is in with a good chance with its chic, reformed Albert Dock that lures a cool 5 million visitors per year. Liverpool’s future is looking bright: In 2007 for the first time ever the Turner Prize will be held outside London at the Tate Liverpool. Then there’s the fact that it is one of only three cities in the UK to be granted World Heritage status.
Tour Liverpool
With more Georgian architecture than any other city in the UK, a world-famous waterfront with the highest concentration of listed city buildings and monuments outside London, as well as an array of exciting attractions, Liverpool makes for a great coach trip destination. Stroll through the modern Tate Liverpool to see innovative, interesting art before brushing up on Liverpool’s seafaring heritage at the Merseyside Maritime Museum. During your coach tour to Liverpool, have a day out to Aintree, home of the Grand National, or discover Penny Lane and Strawberry Fields on a Fab Four trail.
