Having undergone considerable rejuvenation since its industrial revolution days, the city is in the running for European Capital of Culture 2008 and is in with a good chance with its chic, reformed Albert Dock that lures a cool 5 million visitors per year. Liverpool’s future is looking bright: In 2007 for the first time ever the Turner Prize will be held outside London at the Tate Liverpool. Then there’s the fact that it is one of only three cities in the UK to be granted World Heritage status.
